Turks Top 5!

THESE ARE MY FAVORITES THAT I HAVE FOUND OVER MY JOURNEY SO FAR!

I will continue to update this list as I play. My opinions of these games and tools are coming directly from a solo TTRPG player's perspective and should be judged as such. Anything on this list has impressed me in a specific way, whether that’s its mechanics, creativity, or the experience it creates at the table for a solo player.

Basically, Rad games that I think everyone should play at least once.

Dont know where to start when it comes to solo rpgs?

Index Card RPG

Changed the way I play ttrpgs forver. Its Fast, flexible, and easy to run solo. ICRPG keeps the rules moving quickly and makes every scene feel playable right away. I love it because it gets out of the way and lets the adventure happen.

Why I Recommend It:

Great for players who want simple rules, fast combat, and easy prep.

Best For:

Fantasy, sci-fi, weird adventures, and people who want a toolbox system. It includes multiple themes.

My Solo Take:

This one works really well solo because rooms, targets, timers, and effort make each scene easy to structure without overthinking it. You can also make your own items and rules on this game so easy so if you have an idea while you are playing you can do it on the spot.

Pirate Borg

A brutal pirate-themed RPG built on the MÖRK BORG system. Pirate Borg combines cursed seas, undead horrors, naval battles, buried treasure, and desperate survival into one of the most flavorful RPGs I've ever played.

Why I Recommend It:

The setting is incredible. All the Rolls in the game are player forward so its easy to Solo. The naval combat mechanics are the best.

Best For:

Players who love pirates, dark fantasy, dangerous adventures, random tables, and emergent storytelling.

My Solo Take:

This is one of my favorite games to play solo. The setting and random tables are so good that they practically run the game for you.

Land of Eem

Land of Eem is one of the most charming tabletop RPGs I've ever played. Set in a whimsical world, and endless adventure, it captures the feeling of classic fantasy cartoons while still delivering meaningful stories and exciting exploration.

Why I Recommend It:

Everything about this game is bursting with personality. The artwork is incredible, the setting is memorable, and every location feels like it has a story waiting to be discovered.

Best For:

Players who enjoy exploration, lighthearted fantasy, creative problem-solving, and Saturday morning cartoon.

My Solo Take:

Land of Eem works surprisingly well as a solo RPG. The world is packed with interesting locations, NPCs, rumors, and random encounters that make exploration feel natural. The hexcrawl mechanics make it easiliy Soloable and has been affectionatly called "Land of mee" by the community.

Legend in the Mist

Legend in the Mist takes everything I love about fantasy adventure and wraps it in a beautiful rustic folklore setting. Small villages, wandering travelers, mysterious forests, strange magic all come together to create a world full of stories waiting to happen.

Why I Recommend It:

The tag system is one of the most intuitive character systems I've ever used. Instead of tracking long lists of abilities, your character is built from meaningful story elements that directly impact the narrative.

Best For:

Players who enjoy character-driven stories, folklore-inspired fantasy, and building scenes or environments.

My Solo Take:

This game is incredibly easy to play solo. The tag system naturally encourages creative problem-solving and makes it easy to understand what your character can do at any given moment. Combined with the rustic setting, every adventure feels personal and grounded.

Tomb Punk

If I could only keep a handful of indie RPGs on my shelf, Tomb Punk would absolutely be one of them. This game takes dungeon crawling, exploration, and survival, then mixes them together into something that feels completely unique. It gives you what you need and tells you to figure out the rest. Old school flavor in a modern way.

Why I Recommend It:

Tomb Punk is packed with creativity. The world is strange, the ideas are memorable, and the game gives you the rules you need and throws out the rest. I love a game that is straight forward and throws out all the fluff.

Best For:

Players who love dungeon crawls, D12s, old school ideas and smashing skeletons.

My Solo Take:

This game has some solo rules in the back. I have actually made extra dungeon crawling solo rules you can get for free: here. The rolls are player forward and the stats are simple so you can just roll dice and smash stuff without thinking much. I dig that.
